This is the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, the first phone with 108 megapixels and 5 cameras
Difficult to beat in relation to specifications/price, the Note 10 raises the bar with its cameras, a giant battery and the premiere of MIUI 11. The thing was serious, when we told you that there were going to be phones with cameras with 108 megapixels, we did not expect them to appear so soon. But Xiaomi has been in a hurry to show us its technological muscle and has released this type of camera on the Mi Note 10.
We are clearly facing the high-end of the Chinese company for the next few months, with all its specifications to the fullest and a price that is too competitive for rivals. But above all this, we have to mention again the photographic system of the Mi Note 10, composed of 5 cameras. In this article, we are going to know its main specifications, the arrival of MIUI 11 as a new version of the system, and of course, its availability and price.
Xiaomi Mi Note 10, designed to enter through the eyes
All phones are too similar, so the main difference is found in the quality of finishes, materials and the choice of colors . In the case of the Mi Note 10, we find three tones: boreal green for the most daring, an icy white that changes color depending on the angle from which we look at it, and a more discreet but attractive midnight black.
From its design, we have to highlight the use of curved glass on the front and back, with rounded edges to make it more comfortable in the hand. The front is practically all screen, for which was used one AMOLED panel of 6.47 inches.
Without leaving this area of the phone we have to know that the fingerprint sensor is hidden under the screen, with a new sensor that is 88% thinner but also has a larger recognition area.
108 megapixels and 5 cameras
If this Mi Note 10 stands out for something, it is because of the use of the new 108-megapixel sensor, but we should not stop evaluating the configuration of cameras that surround it, which Xiaomi has decided to baptize as " Penta camera ".

The idea is that images can be cropped without problems, showing details that can perfectly serve as a new photograph. We will have more definition if we want to print at a large size, also if we want to see it on giant screens.
Five eyes see better than one
Following the market trend, Xiaomi introduces many cameras on the same phone. The reality is that there is very little space in them to place giant cameras and the way to make a flexible camera, capable of covering any situation, is to place different cameras with different focal lengths.
- As you can see in the image, each camera is very different, trying to make each one offers a very different angle and way of taking scenes. With this, we will achieve more creative results, but we will get to know them better:
- A long-range telephoto lens with 5 megapixels, which is also stabilized. We will use it to capture elements that are really far away. It will be in charge of performing the 10X hybrid zoom.
- Another 12-megapixel telephoto lens, with a shorter focal length (2X zoom), ideal for taking portraits. The lens aperture is f / 2.0.
- The star of the phone, the 108-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens. It is a much larger sensor (1 / 1.33 ") than usual in a smartphone and has a more complex lens design (7 lenses, 8 in the case of the Mi Note Pro). The lens aperture is also remarkable: f / 1.69.
- For the most creative shots, we have a much more extreme angle, with 117 degrees of vision. Here the sensor is 20 megapixels and the lens aperture is f / 2.2. Finally, we have a 2-megapixel macro camera, which allows us to photograph really close to the elements.
Night mode 2.0
Yes, Xiaomi claims to have improved the operation of its phone in low light situations with a new night mode baptized as 2.0, and that obviously uses artificial intelligence algorithms to improve the scene.
In this mode, 27-megapixel images are recorded (for each pixel out of 108, 1 is taken). It also makes use of a dual stabilization system (Optical and digital) and a dual flash system can be used.
We are offered the possibility of shooting in RAW for greater flexibility in the shots, with a system called Multi-frame noise reduction, which, as its name suggests, improves the noise in the shots.
Selfies at the highest resolution
Xiaomi has taken seriously this to raise the definition of the cameras and has acted in the same way with the front camera, which is now 32 megapixels. The design is teardrop in the centre.
There is no shortage of modes such as panorama selfie, gesture shooting or the introduction of artificial intelligence to improve the image in portraits and scenes, also to unlock the phone with face recognition.
High-end hardware, endless battery
Where they have surprised everyone is in the battery section, introducing a unit with a huge capacity: 5,260mAh. In the purchase package comes the fast charger (30W), capable of filling the phone 100% in 65 minutes.
Releasing MIUI 11
We are facing an Android phone, but Xiaomi wants to have it well covered with its MIUI customization, which in this phone reaches its version 11. We could say that it is the biggest update in terms of design, including important features such as dark mode.
MIUI is one of the deepest customizations of the Google system, and here they have taken seriously that the phone is an extension of our personality, allowing us to configure and personalize at a higher level.
Among the new functionalities we highlight the notifications made to the full screen, the double clock, the introduction of a task manager at the home screen level, with voice recognition, or for productivity, a document manager that unifies all the most popular types (excel, doc, pdf, PowerPoint, etc), presenting them with a preview.
