Instagram recently made some changes to the way you add or select multiple photos for a post. Naturally, many people started wondering why Instagram won't let me post multiple pictures but don't worry, we've got you covered here. All the fancy tricks aside, the main driver of Instagram's popularity has been its minimal scrolling feed, filled with posts from your friends and people you follow. Posting images and videos to the feed is how people share bits of their lives and connect.
Posting a single photo is pretty easy. But if there are multiple photos, posting them one by one can seem like a daunting task. Posting a flurry of photos not only ruins an otherwise well-maintained feed it also brings it dangerously closer to spam territory.
How to upload multiple photos to Instagram from phone?
Adding multiple photos to a single post simplifies things for you and your followers whose feeds the post will appear in. Here's how you can do it from the phone.
1- Click on the (+) icon and then click on Library at the bottom of the screen.
2- Click on the Select Multiple icons.
3- Choose up to 10 photos and videos from your phone's Library. To adjust each photo or video is cropped, tap on it and then touch the screen to adjust how it fits into the frame. Remember that you can only post as a square, not as vertical or horizontal. When you're done, click Next in the top right.
4- Tap a filter at the bottom of the screen to apply it to all your selected photos and videos, or tap a photo or video to edit it and add a filter individually.
5- To change the order of your photos and videos, tap and hold one of them and then drag it to another location. To remove a photo or video from a post, tap and hold your finger, then drag it to the top of the phone screen. When you're done, click Next in the top right.
6- You can add a single location and caption to the entire post and tag a person in each photo individually. Click Tag People, then scroll to find the photo you want to tag the person in.
7- Click on Share.
In the feed, you'll see the first photo or video of your post with a row of dots below it. Your followers can scroll to see the rest of the photos or videos you've shared. In your account, you will see the first photo or video with the Select Multiple icons at the top right. From your account, you can tap Share, then scroll to see the rest of the photos and videos you've shared.
Your followers can like and comment on your post just like regular posts. Comments and likes appear on the entire post rather than on individual photos and videos that are part of your post.
After posting a post with multiple photos and videos, you can edit the location or the caption. However, you will not be able to rearrange, edit or delete parts of the post, but only delete the entire post if you wish.
